The Penya Barcelonista de Damascus (FCB World Federation) demonstrated once again how the values of solidarity that define the FC Barcelona supporters’ club movement are present anywhere on the planet. In this case, the Syrian penya volunteered to carry out a humanitarian action in an orphanage located on the countryside of its city. Several members of the PB Damascus shared a whole day with the children of the center, organizing various activities that made them spend a very special time and left them with a smile on their faces.
First of all, the members of the PB Damascus helped the children of the orphanage to plant with their own hands some of the trees and plants in the center’s garden, a fact that will contribute to their well-being in their day to day life. Afterwards, the members of the Syrian penya prepared several games and activities of a playful and educational nature, with which the children had a lot of fun. There was also face painting, as well as the delivery of various gifts by the penya members. All this, with the presence of the blaugrana colors and symbols of the penya, which aroused the passion of the children.
A young, active and supportive penya
This action consolidates the spirit of solidarity of the Penya Barcelonista de Damascus, which with only a year and a half as an official FC Barcelona entity has already demonstrated its commitment to its territory. At the end of January, the penya organized at its headquarters a collection of winter clothes for children with the participation of all its members. The items collected were then donated to a charity organization in Syria that helps families in need.
Recently, the Penya Barcelonista de Damascus organized another activity for its members, in this case of a recreational and sustainable nature. It was a bike ride through the streets of Damascus, in collaboration with the Road Ride organization. The action was a great success and presented a high participation of the penya members.
