The Penya Barcelonista de Sils (Federació Gironès, Selva, Garrotxa i Pla de l’Estany) recently held a special event to present the trophy for the best Barça femení player of the 2024/25 season. This was the first edition of the award, and the winner was none other than the blaugrana captain: Alexia Putellas. The award is based on the cumulative monthly votes cast by the penya members throughout the season.
An example of commitment and leadership
The event took place at the Hostal Mallorquines restaurant, in a very emotional and Barça-spirited atmosphere. Among the attendees were Antoni Guil, president of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes; Quim Vall-llosera, president of the Federació Gironès, Selva, Garrotxa y Pla de l’Estany; and Ramon Cunill, president of PB Sils. Also present were the rest of the board members of the organising entity, as well as members of other penyes. Representing the Agrupació Barça Jugadors was Flor de Luna Pila, a former Barça femení player, who accepted the award on Alexia’s behalf. Also in attendance were the mayor of Sils, Eduard Colomer, and several local councilors.
During the event, PB Sils highlighted Alexia’s quality, commitment, and leadership. The personalized trophy will remain at the supporters’ club headquarters, awaiting the opportunity to be handed to the player in person at the start of the next season. With this new distinction, the penya aims to promote women’s football and the ongoing support it receives from the Barça penyes movement. PB Sils also expressed gratitude for the participation and enthusiasm of all attendees, as well as the collaboration of all involved organizations.
