Anniversary celebrations continue to fill the calendar of events for supporters’ clubs. In this case, the Penya Barcelonista de Sueras (Federació de les Comarques de Castelló) and the Penya Blaugrana Vall del Tenes (Federació del Vallès) respectively commemorated their 30 years of history in the penyes world with two events, in which the historical conferences of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes played a leading role.
The PB Sueras brings together around a hundred people
The Penya Barcelonista de Sueras opened its 30th anniversary celebrations with the conference ‘Ambaixades: Història de les Penyes’, which took place in the auditorium of the Unió Musical Santa Cecilia de Sueras. The session was led by Salva Torres, vice-president of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, with the assistance of Aksana Vayevoda, and was attended by more than 60 people, including members of the PB Sueras and other members of PB Ribesalbes, PB Montán, PB Artana, PB Onda, PB Borriana, PB Betxi and PB Vora Sèquia de Castelló. All of them learned more details about the more than one hundred years of history of the FC Barcelona penyes movement.
This was followed by the celebration of the 30th anniversary in the local pavilion. There, about a hundred people gathered, with the presence of the president of the Confederació, Antoni Guil; the president of the Federació de Castelló, Ximo Grifol; the mayor of Sueras, José Martí; and the president of the Fundación Caja Rural de Onda, Salvador Calçada. All of them exchanged gifts with the president of the PB Sueras, Juan Salvador Martí. In addition to the aforementioned Barcelona supporters’ clubs, the Peña Madridista and the Penya Valencianista de Sueras also attended, demonstrating the harmony between supporters in the town. The PB Sueras gave a souvenir to all the attendees and organised a t-shirt raffle.
Festive day at PB Vall del Tenes
For its part, the Penya Blaugrana Vall del Tenes prepared a day with a very similar agenda to celebrate its 30th anniversary, with the collaboration of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, the Federació de Penyes del Vallès and the City Council of Bigues i Riells. Also here, the conference ‘Ambaixades: La Historia de les Penyes’, given by Salva Torres, opened the day to bring the history of the supporters’ clubs closer to the attendees. The talk took place in the Teatre Auditori Polivalent of the Centre Cívic i Cultural de Bigues i Riells.
This was followed by the main event of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the PB Vall del Tenes. It was attended by around 80 people, with the presence of Jordi Juan, president of the PB Vall del Tenes; Xavier Betran, delegate of the Consell Consultiu in Vallès; and Joan Josep Galiano, mayor of Bigues i Riells. The PB Sant Cugat, the PB Cardedeu and the PB Calderina de Caldes de Montbui accompanied the PB Vall del Tenes on this special day. Among all the attendees, an official FC Barcelona shirt was raffled.
