The financier Marc Ciria took part in the event, where he shared his proposals and exchanged points of view with the members of the Penyes Council

The headquarters of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes was the setting for a new Plenary meeting of the Penyes Council last Saturday; the first one of the current year. The meeting was attended by 29 representatives of the territorial federations of penyes, half of them in person and the other half online. The Plenary session consisted of two blocks: the first reviewed the different current issues of the penyes movement, and the second included the participation of the financier Marc Ciria, in line with the Confederació desire to open its doors to all the voices that form part of the FC Barcelona universe.

Update of the Confederació

The Plenary got underway with a welcome from the president of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, Antoni Guil, to the members of the Penyes Council and the Advisory Board. Among other issues, Guil highlighted the role of the Confederació in providing a service to penyes and its members, promoting the unity of FC Barcelona and also its willingness to open doors to any voice that wants to address the penyes collective.

In his turn, the treasurer of the Confederació, Vicenç Notari, presented the 2023/24 accounts, as well as the 2024/25 budget of the organization, both of which were approved. He also explained the launch of the more than 160,000 Penyista Cards 2025, as well as the sending of their physical format to the penyes that requested them. On the other hand, Joan Giménez, secretary of the Confederació, explained the calendar for the elections to the territorial federations of penyes, which will take place between September and October of this year. Finally, the vice-president Salva Torres announced the presentation of the book ‘Ambaixades: Historia de les penyes del FC Barcelona’, scheduled for Tuesday 22 April at 18:00h.

Presence of Marc Ciria

The second section of the Plenary meeting featured financier Marc Ciria, who gave the audience his vision of the current situation of the Club. Ciria presented the solutions he proposes in the economic, digital and corporate spheres to improve the management of the Club, and also listened to the points of view and concerns of the representatives of the Penyes Council. In this sense, he highlighted the role of the Confederació in managing the penyes movement and promoting the unity of the FC Barcelona social base.

Marc Ciria adds to the different names from the FC Barcelona universe who have participated in recent Plenary meetings, such as Joan Camprubí (‘Som un Clam’), Ricard Faura (‘Dignitat Blaugrana’), Víctor Font (‘Sí al Futur’), or the members of the Espai d’Animació.
