The Confederació Mundial de Penyes once again commemorates World Blood Donor Day

The Confederació Mundial de Penyes, through its CSR Subcommittee, once again commemorates World Blood Donor Day, held every year on 14 June. The Barça supporters’ organisation takes part in this important day to highlight the vital importance of donating blood throughout the year, as well as to pay special tribute to all donors who contribute to this cause. This commitment to blood donation remains steadfast on the part of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, its Federations and its penyes, always in collaboration with Blood and Tissue Banks and the administrations in each territory.

The involvement of penyes

Once again this year, blood donation drives form part of the activities of various penyes, which encourage both their members and other residents of their towns and cities to take part. Once more, particular recognition should be given to the involvement of the Federació de Penyes de Lleida Sud i la Franja, which received a recognition from the Segrià Donors’ Association for the collaboration of many of its penyes in blood donation drives held in towns across Lleida.

The PB Solsona i Comarca (Fed. Ponent Nord) also continues its summer tradition of organising a blood donation campaign, while the PB Contestana (Fed. Comarques d’Alacant) recently held one for the third time with great participation success. Even the PB Bamako, in Mali, is planning to carry out a blood donation campaign in its country.

The Confederation once again thanks all penya members, club members and Barça fans in general who do their bit by donating blood and plasma. Likewise, it encourages all penyes to join this cause, which is so important for everyone’s health.
