The PB Arbúcies hosts the conference “Barça i Catalunya: Temps de Foscor”

The conference was attended by Joan Camprubí i Montal, who gave a short talk at the end of the event.

After the short break in August, the “Barça i Catalunya” cycle of conferences is back on track. The first entity to receive it, specifically its second part “Temps de Foscor” (Dark Times), was the Penya Barcelonista d’Arbúcies (Federació de Penyes del Gironès, Selva, Garrotxa i Pla de l’Estany), in an event held last Saturday at the Museu de la Gabella. This activity is framed in the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the PB Arbúcies.

Promoted by the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, the conference was given by the vice-president of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, Salva Torres, who was accompanied by Josep Seguer, son of the Barça de les Cinc Copes defender, and Aksana Vayevoda. The event was attended by the mayor of the town, Pere Garriga, and the president of the Federació Gironès, Selva, Garrotxa i Pla de l’Estany, Quim Vall-llosera. The president of the Federació de Penyes del Bages, Berguedà i Cerdanya, Toni Valverde, also attended the event.

New guest in the final part

On this occasion, the guest of the conference was Joan Camprubí Montal, who is the great-grandson of one of the protagonists of the conference: Agustí Montal y Galobart, president of FC Barcelona between 1946 and 1952. He is also the grandson of President Agustí Montal y Costa, who headed the Club between 1969 and 1977. Camprubí took part in a brief talk with Aksana Vayevoda to close the event and presented the prizes for the PB Arbúcies 50th anniversary poster competition in three different categories.

This new format in the final part of the conferences has already seen other guests such as Víctor Font, Marc Círia, former players from various FC Barcelona sections, renowned politicians and municipal or territorial leaders. In short, it is a space that the organisers want to open up to prominent names in the FC Barcelona scene who want to approach and dialogue with the penyes movement.
