The penyes take part in La Marató de 3Cat one more year

As every year, the blaugrana organizations contributed their grain of sand with actions of all kinds spread throughout the Catalan territory.

The spirit of solidarity of the Barcelona penyes movement came to the fore, once again this year, on the occasion of a new edition of the La Marató de 3Cat. Throughout Catalonia, several entities wanted to contribute to this cause, which this year was dedicated to respiratory diseases, through activities of all kinds that involved their supporters and followers.

One of the most ambitious was the Penya Barcelonista Anguera (Fed. Barcelonès Oest), which once again exceeded all expectations with a new edition of its Solidarity Raffle. In total, the penya raised more than 7,500 euros thanks to a huge participation throughout the weekend. Another initiative to highlight is that of the Penya Barça Cambrils (Fed. Tarragona Nord), which once again joined forces with the local Espanyol penya to organize a solidarity vermouth. Between culés and pericos, they managed to raise about 1,600 euros for La Marató de 3Cat.

Actions throughout the territory

Another entity mobilized was the Penya Blaugrana de Monells (Fed. Empordà i Catalunya Nord), which held the 11th edition of its “Escudellada”. The event, which brought together nearly 300 people, once again demonstrated the solidarity capacity of the Empordà supporters’ club. Meanwhile, the Penya Barcelonista Sant Andreu de la Barca (Fed. Baix Llobregat) brought together a good part of its members for a solidarity breakfast which raised a donation of more than 600 euros, and the Penya Barcelonista Masnou-Ocata (Fed. Maresme) did the same with a solidarity dinner held at its headquarters. Also in the Fed. Maresme, the Penya Barcelonista Tordera participated in the Solidarity Market of their municipality to collect donations, while Penya Blaugrana Faió (Fed. Lleida Sud i la Franja) donated all the proceeds from a match day to La Marató.

Another way to help is also by providing volunteers to collect the calls that this tv program receives throughout the day. This is what some members of the Penya Barcelonista Montgrí i Comarca (Fed. Empordà i Catalunya Nord) did, who volunteered to get on the phone on a day as special as this one. All of this once again demonstrated the great social commitment that defines the FC Barcelona penyes movement.

Also in México

This spirit of solidarity has also made the leap to the other side of the Atlàntic. In Mexico, the Penya Azulgrana Tampico Madero took part in the Teletón 2024, a television initiative very similar to La Marató that is held in the country of Central America. In this case, the penya went to the CRIT Tamaulipas Centre to make their financial donation, which will go towards research into therapies and treatments for children with disabilities, cancer and autism. The Barcelona club thus demonstrated its commitment to its community and to those people who need it most.
