Every time the month of Ramadan arrives, Barcelona supporters’ clubs in Muslim regions usually mobilize to help those who, due to their vulnerable situation, find it more difficult to feed themselves at the end of the day. This year, two examples of this have been the Penya Blaugrana de Dakar, in Senegal, and the Penya Blaugrana Rabat Atlantic, in Morocco, both belonging to the FCB World Federation.
1st “Ndogou” of PB Dakar
In the case of PB Dakar, its members coordinated to collect funds for food and its distribution in Bargny, a town east of the Senegalese capital whose population is living a complicated situation due, among other things, to the effects of climate change. Thanks to PB Dakar’s initiative, some of its inhabitants will have more access to traditional pastries, dried fruits, sweets, coffee, and tea to celebrate the breaking of the fast, known as “Ndogou” in Senegal. In this way, and thanks to the contributions of its members, PB Dakar has carried out its first major social action of 2024. The Senegalese supporters’ club, officialized in July 2023, is one of the youngest penyes, but has already demonstrated the values of solidarity that define this blaugrana collective..
PB Rabat Atlantic visits the High Atlas again
Another of the supporters’ clubs mobilized for Ramadan was the Penya Blaugrana Rabat Atlantic. As happens every year when this month of fasting begins, the members of the Moroccan penya once again traveled to the High Atlas region to visit one of its humble villages and deliver food. In total, 90 baskets were distributed to needy families, who will thus be able to break their fast at the end of the day For this solidarity action, PB Rabat Atlantic once again counted on the help of its members, who once again demonstrated their great commitment when it comes to helping the most disadvantaged.
