Once again, the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia will serve as the starting point for the 44th Humanitarian Corridor promoted by the Foundation of the Convent of Santa Clara, known as the “II Caravana de la Bondad” (II Convoy of Kindness), which will deliver medical and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Once again, this initiative led by Sister Lucía Caram will have the support of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, headed by the Syndic of Penyes, Ramon Térmens. The organization also encourages all its territorial federations and penyes to join and support the initiative.
The departure of this II Caravan of Kindness is scheduled for June 10, a date that could include an exceptional event: the blessing of Pope Leo XIV, coinciding with his apostolic visit to the Catalan capital. Sister Lucía Caram, director of the Convent of Santa Clara and the main driving force behind these humanitarian corridors, will also be present at the departure. During the 42nd solidarity corridor, which departed at the end of February, both the Confederació and Aficiones Unidas had already supported this initiative.
Open collaborations
The convoy of this 44th humanitarian corridor will consist of 30 vehicles — including ambulances, pick-up trucks, and adapted cars — and will depart from Barcelona loaded with essential medical supplies, power generators, defibrillators, and aid for the civilian population affected by the conflict. Sixty volunteers will drive the vehicles across Europe to the Ukrainian border, from where they will be transferred to areas close to the front line of the conflict. In addition, the humanitarian corridors promoted by the Foundation of the Convent of Santa Clara also make it possible to evacuate injured people.
All entities or individuals who wish to collaborate with this solidarity initiative can make donations to the following bank account: ES43 2100 3093 0722 0031 6970. Contributions can also be made via Bizum to 05122. All donations are welcome and will help strengthen this new shipment of humanitarian aid to Ukraine on June 10.
