The Penya Solera Barcelonista de Calella celebrates its 68th anniversary with representatives from 28 penyes

The penya of the Federació del Maresme organized a popular street celebration and a fellowship lunch that brought together around one hundred guests from the penyes movement.

La Penya Barcelonista Solera Calella, part of the Federació de Penyes Barcelonistes del Maresme, marked its 68th anniversary with a double celebration in its town last weekend. The main event was a large fellowship lunch, which brought together nearly one hundred Barça supporters and stood out for the broad presence of penyes from different territories. Once again, the strong ties that unite the blaugrana penyistic movement were clearly evident.

In total, 28 penyes were represented: PSB Calella, PB Manresa, PB Sant Cugat del Vallès, PB Sils, PB Mataró, PB La Pulga de Castelldefels, PB Sant Andreu de la Barca, PB El Papiol, PSB Castellar del Vallès, PB Blanes, PB Almeda, PB Tordera, PB Cotlliure, PB Poble Nou, PB Pep Ventura, PB Viriato de Zamora, PB Teixonera, PB Front 532, PB Nova Lloreda, PB L’Escala, PB Sant Adrià de Besòs, PB Gol 3000, PB Mollet del Vallès, PB Arenys de Munt, PB Foment Martinenc, PB Granollers, PB Districte XXVII La Sagrera and PB Breda.

The day was led by Isidre Argelés, president of the Penya Solera Calella, together with Ramon Pruna, president of the Federació de Penyes del Maresme. Representing FC Barcelona were Gabriel Cid, member of the Social Commission, and Pere Valentí Mora, vice-president of the Agrupació Barça Jugadors. Manel Vicente, sports councillor of Calella de la Costa, was also present. They all highlighted the history of the host penya and exchanged gifts.

The activities celebrating the 68th anniversary of the Penya Solera Barcelonista de Calella had begun the previous evening with the penya’s traditional popular street celebration. The event brought together Club members, supporters, residents and culers, who shared a festive evening open to everyone. The night was full of performances and entertainment thanks to several acts, including the Escola de Dansa La Fàbrica de Laia Ferrer and musician Cristian Domènec, both of whom were warmly applauded by those in attendance.

The street celebration also featured a bar service run by the Confraria de Setmana Santa. Throughout the event, there was an atmosphere of community, participation and celebration that , making the evening the best possible prelude to such a special anniversary.
