Last Saturday, 4 July, the Penya Barcelonista de Ciutadella (Federació Illes Balears) celebrated its 42nd anniversary with its traditional commemorative dinner, accompanied by a talk with prominent figures from the Barça scene. This year, the supporters’ club welcomed two very special guests: Toni Freixa, former board member and former candidate for the presidency of FC Barcelona, and Jota Jordi, talk-show commentator and content creator. Together, they brought around one hundred people to the celebration, with a strong presence of young Barça fans.
The day began at the PB Ciutadella headquarters, where Toni Freixa and Jota Jordi signed the book of honour, accompanied by the supporters’ club president, Carles Gener, and the president of the Federació Illes Balears, Oscar Escoda. Afterwards, they all moved on to the Ciutadella Yacht Club for the 42nd anniversary dinner and the talk that followed. The session was especially lively and featured a high level of active participation from the attending culers. During the event, PB Ciutadella raffled tickets for October’s Clásico, as well as a first-team shirt signed by Raphinha.
1,000 members
The success of this 42nd anniversary celebration comes after a very special milestone for PB Ciutadella, which surpassed the figure of 1,000 members at the end of March. In this way, the organisation has become a true benchmark for Barça support on the island of Menorca, as well as one of the largest supporters’ clubs in the Federació Illes Balears. It is yet another example of the strong capacity for mobilisation and gathering that Barça penyes have in their respective territories.
