Barça femení’s 5-0 win over arch-rivals Real Madrid turned the Estadi Lluís Companys into a real blaugrana party in front of nearly 40,000 people. Among them, the notable presence of the Barça supporters’ clubs once again stood out. Despite the unusual timetable, many of them travelled from all over the country to cheer on the players coached by Jonatan Giráldez.
One of the largest representations was that of the Federació de Terres de l’Ebre, which brought more than a hundred supporters from their region. In their two buses, there were members of penyes such as PB Tivenys, PB Joan Gamper, PB Vicenç Piera, PB Vinaròs, PB Santa Bàrbara, PB Alcanar and PB Benicarló, among others. Also cheering on the team in Montjuic were the PB Soses (Fed. Lleida Sud), the PB Sant Cugat (Fed. El Vallès), the PB Solsona i Comarca (Fed. Ponent Nord), the PB Front 532 (Fed. Barcelonès Est), the PB Salt (Fed. Gironès, Selva, Garrotxa i Pla de l’Estany), the PB Els Tamarells (Fed. Balears), the PB Móstoles (Fed. Madrid) and the PB Cabanyal (Fed. València i Marina Alta), along with many others.
Faithful commitment to Barça femení
The Clásico was a new demonstration of the penyes support that Barça women’s team always find at their matches, whether they are at the Estadi Johan Cruyff or when they play away. A week ago, organisations such as the Penya Almogàvers (Fed. Barcelonès Oest), the Penya Barça de l’Alcora (Fed. Castelló), the PB Sant Cugat (Fed. Vallès) or the Tot pel Femení group, among others, cheered on Giráldez’s team at the Mini Estadi de Vila-Real in the resounding victory (0-6) achieved by the blaugrana players. All of them thanked the supporters for their unconditional support after the match.
Also in the Champions League debut, last Wednesday against Benfica, there was widespread support at the Johan Cruyff Stadium from the penyes movement. The FC Barcelona supporters’ clubs are following with great enthusiasm a season in which they hope to celebrate several titles again.
