Burgos welcomes over 120 Barça fans for the 20th Meeting of Penyes of Castilla y León

Representatives from 21 penyes in the region took part in a gathering that commemorated the 30th anniversary of the host club, PB Tierras del Cid, and culminated in a major Barça family lunch.

Last Saturday, 26 September, the city of Burgos became a major hub for Barça supporters thanks to the 20th Meeting of Penyes of Castilla y León. The event was organised by the Agrupación de Peñas Barcelonistas de Castilla y León and Peña Barcelonista Tierras del Cid, which commemorated its 30th anniversary. The meeting brought together a total of 120 supporters, with 21 penyes represented from different parts of Castilla y León. All of them shared a great cultural, institutional and festive day filled with Barça spirit.

Intense Barça activity

The 20th Meeting of Penyes of Castilla y León began with the official reception of all attendees at the Teatro Principal in Burgos. There, archaeologist Eudald Carbonell gave a talk on the Atapuerca archaeological sites, which generated great interest among the supporters. Afterwards, the institutional meeting of the Agrupación de Peñas Barcelonistas de Castilla y León was held, where topics related to the penyes and current Barça affairs were reviewed.

The activity then moved to Burgos City Council, where the blaugrana delegation took part in an institutional reception attended by two city councillors. Finally, after a prior aperitif, the major Barça family lunch was held with all the participating supporters. The event included the celebration of the 30th anniversary of PB Tierras del Cid, chaired by Pedro García, who received several gifts from the participating penyes and organisations.

The 20th Meeting of Castilla y León was attended by Miguel García, president of the Agrupación de Peñas Barcelonistas de Castilla y León, and Josep Ignasi Macià, member of the FC Barcelona Board of Directors. Also notable was the participation of former Barça player Meho Kodro, who attracted great interest among all attendees. The organisers gave a very positive assessment of the day, which highlighted the strength and relevance of the penyes movement in Castilla y León.
