PB Calderina celebrates 50 years of Barça support in Caldes de Montbui

The penya from the Federació del Vallès overcame the rain and offered a programme full of activities, culminating in a major celebration attended by nearly 170 people.

Penya Blaugrana Calderina celebrated the 50th anniversary of its founding in fitting style. The penya, which belongs to the Federació Vallès, organised a wide-ranging programme of activities which, despite being affected by restrictions caused by the heavy rains that fell during the weekend, showed that Barça spirit is lived with great passion in Caldes de Montbui.

Opening activities

The first activity was a talk about Barça featuring prominent journalists from the blaugrana sphere. Joan Poquí, Mireia Germán, Víctor Lozano and David Bernabéu took part, spending two hours discussing various aspects of current affairs linked to FC Barcelona. The event generated great interest, as shown by the full house recorded in the Plenary Hall of Caldes de Montbui Town Council on a Thursday evening.

On Saturday, activity resumed with a triangular futsal tournament at the Les Cremades Pavilion. In addition to PB Calderina’s own team, Penya Blaugrana Barberà and Club Natació Caldes also took part. The three teams produced a very high-level and exciting competition. In the afternoon, the parade planned by the organisers had to be moved indoors due to the threat of rain, which reduced the number of spectators but did not diminish the festive spirit of the activity for all ages, with the Avi del Barça giant head as one of the main attractions.

Celebration with 170 people

The following day, mobility restrictions caused by the heavy rains that had fallen overnight forced PB Calderina to cancel the various outdoor cultural and musical performances it had planned, but they did not prevent the major final celebration of the 50th anniversary from taking place. Nearly 170 people attended, including representatives from eight other penyes from the Federació Vallès who wanted to accompany PB Calderina on such a special day.

Among the guests at the celebration were Rafa Yuste, vice-president of FC Barcelona; Antoni Guil, president of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes and of the Federació del Vallès; Josep-Ignasi Macià, FC Barcelona board member; Juan Manuel Asensi, president of Agrupació de Jugadors; Josep Llorca, former player of the roller hockey section; and Arnau Blanco, assistant coach to Hansi Flick. Joan Gaspart, former president of FC Barcelona, also attended. Jaume Coll, president of PB Calderina, acted as host. They all highlighted the great success of this celebration.
