East Coast supporters’ clubs bid great farewell to Barça’s tour

PB Nova York and PB Garden State hosted the Club in downtown Manhattan, and also PB Toronto, PB Washington DC and PB El Papiol didn’t miss the match.

From the first to the last day of FC Barcelona’s USA Tour, both Club representatives and players have been able to see firsthand the strength of the supporters’ clubs movement in the United States. The last stop, on the East Coast of the country, specifically in New York City, was a farewell in style to the tour by supporters’ clubs.

On this occasion, the hosts were the Penya Barcelonista de Nova York and the Garden State Blaugrana Penya, from New Jersey, both belonging to the FCB World Federation. Last Friday, they gathered around 150 ‘culers’ in the heart of Manhattan, in a meeting that once again had an important representation of the Club. Vice presidents Antonio Escudero and Elena Fort, as well as directors Josep Ignasi Macià, Xavier Puig and Joan Soler shared the blaugrana passion with the American supporters. Juliano Belletti, a member of the Barça Legends who has accompanied the group throughout the tour, was also in attendance.

The party continued Saturday with the match between NY Red Bulls and FC Barcelona. In the stands completely dyed in blue and red, the aforementioned supporters’ clubs were joined by members of the PB Toronto and PB Washington DC, and even two members of the PB El Papiol (Fed. Baix Llobregat).

Culer territory

Three years after the last pre-season USA Tour, the supporters’ clubs in the United States have once again demonstrated their love for the Club and their great capacity for mobilization. From Miami to New York, via Las Vegas and Dallas, more than 500 Barça supporters took part in the meetings organized by the respective host organizations for each game. And many more have filled the stadiums with the soul and spirit of FC Barcelona.
