Laszi Kubala, guest of honour in ‘Barça i Catalunya’ conference

The son of the blaugrana legend explained several personal aspects and anecdotes about his father in front of the nearly 50 attendees to the talk.

One of the last appointments of the ‘Barça i Catalunya’ conference series took place at the social club of the Penya Blaugrana de Sant Cugat del Vallès (Federació de Penyes del Vallès). It was the second part of these conferences, ‘Temps de Foscor’, and it included the presentation of the homonymous book. Once again, the talk was given by Salva Torres, vice-president of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, and Xavier Gamper, son of the founder of FC Barcelona, with Aksana Vayevoda in the technical part. This time, though, the conference ‘Barça i Catalunya’ had a special guest of honour: Laszi Kubala, son of the legendary FC Barcelona footballer of the 50s.

Kubala complemented the content of the conference, focused on the Civil War and the post-war period, with several personal aspects of his father and also some hitherto unknown anecdotes. The initiative was very well received by the nearly 50 attendees to the talk, led by the president of the PB Sant Cugat, Josep Maria Félez. Precisely, Félez expressed his willingness to repeat the conference ‘Barça i Catalunya’ in winter so that more members of the supporters’ club can enjoy the presence of Laszi Kubala as guest of honour.

The aim of the ‘Barça i Catalunya’ conferences is to give continuity to this novelty and to invite other relatives of mythical figures of Barcelona to participate in the talks. This will add new perspectives to the history of the Club and the supporters’ clubs. The initiative of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes already has an agenda full of requests, especially from September onwards.
