Great success of the 2nd 7-a-Side Football Tournament of PB Iznájar

The penya from Córdoba brought together around 200 young footballers in a day that featured 13 teams across the U-10, U-12 and U-14 age groups

The Peña Barcelonista Iznájar (Federación de Peñas de Andalucia, Ceuta y Melilla) successfully held its 2nd 7-a-side Football Tournament. The event, which took place last Saturday 30 May at the Valdearenas Sports Grounds with the collaboration of the local Town Council, brought together around 200 young players in the U-10, U-12 and U-14 age groups. A total of 13 teams took part from different towns in Andalusia, including Córdoba, Antequera, Cabra, Casariche, Rute and Zambra, in addition to host town Iznájar. The PB Iznájar, chaired by Paco Luque, was responsible for the full organization.

Despite the high temperatures recorded throughout the day, the 7-a-side Football Tournament of PB Iznájar ran without incident over twelve hours filled with sport, togetherness and excitement. In addition to the football competition, the organizers provided a refreshment stand with breakfast and lunch at midday, helping to create a friendly atmosphere. In addition, all participants received a bag containing a drink, fruit, sweets and a small gift, thanks to the collaboration of local organizations that contributed various materials, as well as FC Barcelona, which provided blaugrana-themed gifts.

PB Iznájar, a benchmark for promoting grassroots football

The PB Iznájar gave a very positive assessment of the tournament’s progress, highlighting the excellent response from the teams, coaches, players and their families. With initiatives such as this one, already well established after just two editions, the penya continues working to become a benchmark for the promotion of grassroots sport in its region, as well as for fostering togetherness among young athletes from different parts of Andalusia.
