The Penya Barcelonista de Blanes 1976 has launched the events marking its 50th anniversary, which is being celebrated this year, 2026, with a major blaugrana turnout in the town. The supporters’ club, part of the Federació Gironès, La Selva, La Garrotxa i Pla de l’Estany, organized a popular walk from the Passeig de Mar in Blanes to the Hotel Blau Cel, where it held a large fellowship lunch attended by 165 people, in a festive and deeply barcelonista atmosphere.
The walk was attended by the Mayor of Blanes, Jordi Hernández, and the Councillor for Sports, Mònica Rabassa, who welcomed participants to the initiative. Likewise, the president of PB Blanes 1976, Lluis Freixa, presented them with the penya’s commemorative 50th anniversary shirt, which many of those attending the events were wearing. Its design, available in two colors — blue and red — helped turn the walk into a true blaugrana tide. At one point along the route, a large blaugrana flag was also hung to celebrate this milestone for PB Blanes 1976.
Upcoming events for the 50th anniversary
PB Blanes 1976 has more events scheduled as part of the celebration of its 50th anniversary. The next one will take place on Friday, June 12, with the inauguration of a photographic exhibition about the penya at Sala García-Tornel, which will run until June 21. In mid-September, the 50th anniversary gala dinner will be held, expected to be the highlight of the celebration. Finally, as is already tradition, PB Blanes 1976 will organize a vermouth gathering on the last weekend of December, bringing this very special year for the penya to a close.
