The town of Cervelló lived last Saturday its 1st Inclusive 7-a-side Football Tournament thanks to the initiative of the Penya Blaugrana de Cervelló. In collaboration with the company Barcelona Cup Events, the Council Sports of Baix Llobregat and the City Council of Cervelló, the club belonging to the Federació Baix Llobregat once again demonstrated its willingness to promote inclusive sport with a day full of good atmosphere, and blaugrana passion.
The tournament, of mixed character and open to participants of all ages, had ten participating teams and a total of 150 players In addition to the PB Cervelló itself, the Genuine teams of FC Barcelona, UE Cornellà, PB Vilassar de Mar (Federació Maresme). In addiction, other clubs from Baix Llobregat, Tarragona, Garraf or Maresme participated. The event was held at the Municipal field of Cervelló, where the president of the Federació Baix Llobregat, Vicenç Notari; the president of the PB Cervelló, Andrés Castillo; the president of the Agrupació de Penyes, Lluis Monràs. The mayor of Cervelló, José Ignacio Aparicio, was also present at the event.
Modality “Juga Verd Play”
The 1st PB Cervelló Inclusive 7-a-side tournament was played under the “Juga Verd Play” competition system, created by the Council of Sports of Baix Llobregat. This system puts values such as tolerance, respect and fair play ahead of the final result, and rewards the most outstanding positive actions One of the clearest examples in this regard with the introduction of a green card to show the players who carry them out.
With this, beyond winners and contenders in the competitive aspect, the PB Cervelló tournament left a clear demonstration of the importance of promoting inclusive sport to improve the quality of life of people with functional diversities.
