The Penya Blaugrana de Dakar (FCB World Federation) repeated last year’s experience and organized a very special day to celebrate its 2nd anniversary. It took place on Sunday, June 29, at the Sacré Coeur football facilities in Dakar, where members of the Senegalese penya gathered to witness the grand final of the 2nd Children’s Football Tournament and commemorate the second year of the penya’s official status.
The event was led by Mayté, president of PB Dakar, who welcomed the attendees and expressed gratitude to all the organizations and individuals involved in the project. Notably, former Senegalese international player Mamadou Lamine Mboup, honorary president and patron of the penya, and journalist Charles Faye, patron of the final of the 2nd tournament and a great Barça supporter, were highlighted.

Football and fair play take center stage
The day began with a friendly gala match between the Penya Blaugrana de Dakar and the Peña Madridista de Senegal, the guest of honor for the celebration. The match clearly went in favor of the “merengues”, but it stood out for the fair play shown throughout by both teams, demonstrating the good relationship between Barça and Madrid fans in the African country. In fact, PB Dakar especially thanked the presence of the Penya Madridista members, who actively participated in all the day’s events.
Next came the grand final of the 2nd Children’s Football Tournament of PB Dakar, contested between the football schools Feu Mbaye Diouf and Challenge Foot. The game was so evenly matched that it had to be decided by a penalty shootout, where Feu Mbaye Diouf emerged as champions. In addition to the winners’ trophy, various individual awards and medals were presented. Blowing out the candles for PB Dakar’s 2nd anniversary capped off a very special day for all attendees.
