The 10th Literary Contest of Penya Blaugrana Foment Martinenc is now underway. As every year, the club from the Federació Barcelonès Est invites all penya members, club members, and Barça fans in general to showcase their storytelling skills through short stories centered on FC Barcelona or mentioning the Club’s name. PB Foment Martinenc has already opened the submission period, which will close on Friday 11 September.
Rules and prizes of the contest
To be eligible for the prizes, the story must be no longer than three pages and must be written in Catalan or Spanish. Submissions must be sent by email to pbfm55@gmail.com, with the subject line “10th Barça Short Story Literary Contest,” and must include the author’s personal details: full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address; if the author belongs to a penya, they must also indicate which one it is. Participants must be over 16 years old.
Once again, PB Foment Martinenc’s Literary Contest will award a total of 700 euros in prizes: 300 euros for the best story, 200 euros for second place, and 100 euros for third place, in addition to a parallel prize of 100 euros for the best work written by a penya member, provided that they have not won any of the previous prizes. As always, the jury will be made up of people with literary expertise. The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 14 November, as part of the celebration of PB Foment Martinenc’s 71st anniversary.
A very popular initiative
PB Foment Martinenc’s Literary Contest has become a well-established and highly popular initiative within the Barça community. In addition to numerous penyes from federations across Catalonia, entries have also been received from the federations of Murcia; Aragon, Navarra y La Rioja; Castilla y León; Extremadura; and Andalucía, Ceuta y Melilla. In fact, in the last edition, almost all of the prizes went to participants who were members of a penya.
In addition, every year the Literary Contest also features the participation of journalists linked to Barça current affairs. Names such as Santi Ovalle, David Salinas, Alex Delmás, Cecilia Martínez, Sique Rodríguez, Albert Llimós, and Esther Fega, among many others, have taken part. PB Foment Martinenc, chaired by Àngel Pérez, hopes to achieve another great turnout in this 10th edition of the initiative.
