PB La Riera de Gaià climbs Montserrat mountain once again

A group of ten members of the supporters’ club covered the 100 kilometers between La Riera de Gaià and the Sanctuary of Montserrat in three stages

Once again, the Penya Barcelonista La Riera de Gaià (Federació Tarragona Nord) organized its traditional march to the Sanctuary of Montserrat, an initiative that is now fully established within this Barça supporters’ club. On this occasion, the group was made up of around ten members, who completed the 100 km separating La Riera de Gaià from the emblematic mountain in three stages, stopping in Pontons and Collbató. Despite the weather-related difficulties during the second stage, which added even more epic spirit to the march, all the participants completed the entire route.

Once at the sanctuary, and as tradition dictates, the members of PB La Riera de Gaià symbolically thanked La Moreneta for Barça’s successes and asked for good luck ahead of El Clásico and the league title race, both of which were to be decided that very same day. This year’s edition of the march was therefore a complete success. The initiative, launched four years ago by the penya’s president, Marc Aznar, together with other members, is inspired by a walk that had already been held in the past from the town of La Riera de Gaià. This is yet another example of how penyes can express their Barça identity through all kinds of actions and initiatives.
