The Penya Blaugrana Vandoeuvre Lorraine and the Penya Barcelonista de Burdeos, both belonging to the FCB World Federation, jointly celebrated the 5th anniversary of their officialization as FC Barcelona supporters’ clubs. They did so last weekend with a program full of cultural, tourist and gastronomic activities in the town of Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy, located in northeastern France.
In addition to the members of both organizing supporters’ clubs, the celebration was attended by three other French penyes: Penya Blaugranor, Penya Touraine Supporters du Barça and FC Barcelona Clan. The Penya Virtual Blaugrana was also present. Representing the FCB World Federation and the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, both partners in this celebration, was Josep Antoni Martín. In total, about 30 supporters participated.
Full cultural program
The PB Lorraine and the PB Burdeos organized a weekend mainly focused on discovering the culture and history of the Lorraine region. On Saturday, a reception was held at the town hall of Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy, in the presence of the mayor of the municipality, as well as a visit to a distillery in Mirabelle. There was also time for futgolf, a combination of football and golf. The day ended with a dinner to commemorate the anniversaries with all the participants.
The following day, the supporters visited Nancy, a city of great cultural and historical interest. Special attention was given to the Art Nouveau school and also to the old part of the city, which aroused great interest on the part of all the participants. At lunch time, the event was closed with a farewell act. All attendees highlighted the good atmosphere that was experienced throughout the celebration, as well as the joy of coinciding with different supporters’ clubs from the French territory. All of them hope to repeat a meeting of this type soon.
