FC Barcelona’s visit to Dallas could not have been better for the entire U.S. blaugrana community, and especially for the FC Barcelona supporters’ clubs in the state of Texas: Penya Blaugrana Houston – AICS, Penya Barça Austin and Penya Barça Dallas. All of them, belonging to the FCB World Federation, organized on Friday night a “Penya Party” with representatives of the Club’s board of directors, which brought together dozens of fans. It was a festive and emotional event that, in a way, foreshadowed what would happen the following day.
The stands of the AT&T Stadium in Arlington were a party with the 3-0 victory of Xavi’s team over Real Madrid. In addition to the already special excitement of being able to see their team live, there was the euphoria of the great final victory over the eternal rivals. Besides the aforementioned members of the Houston, Austin and Dallas penyes, supporters from other entities such as the Penya Barcelonista Washington DC also came to the stadium.
From a distance
The “Clasico” played in the United States was also experienced intensely by the supporters’ clubs in this country that could not travel to Dallas. One of them was Penya FCB New York, which organized a viewing party in their city with the presence of other supporters’ clubs from the East Coast, such as Penya Blaugrana Garden State of New Jersey. During the event, official Barça jerseys were raffled, among other gifts.
Other entities such as the PB Washington DC, the PB Fresno or the PB Toronto gathered their members in their usual meeting places to follow together the match against Real Madrid. It was the first big celebration before the start of a season that they hope will bring many more such joys.
Las Vegas finale
The USA tour closes this Wednesday in Las Vegas, where the local supporters’ club, Penya Blaugrana Las Vegas, has also mobilized for the occasion. Yesterday, the penya organized a “Meet & Greet” with many culers from this region. There was a raffle of tickets for the match and other Barça gifts, among other things.
