Once again, the Penya Barça Cambrils (Federació Tarragona Nord) was one of the entities collaborating with the Swim for ELA initiative, which held its 5th edition last weekend. As is now customary, several members of the supporters’ club took part as volunteers and were in charge of the event’s bar service, also handing out hot chocolate to participants and the other volunteers taking part in this charity day. PB Cambrils thus reinforces its commitment to Swim for ELA, an initiative it has supported in every edition since 2022.
The 5th edition of Swim for ELA featured a 23 km team open-water swim, starting at the Port of Calafat (L’Ametlla de Mar) and finishing at the Port of Cambrils. For the third year running, it also included a charity walk of around 12 km between the towns of Reus and Cambrils. The proceeds from both activities reached €103,000, which will be donated in their entirety to the Swim for ELA foundation, which will use them for research into the ALS disease, support for patients and families living with it, and public awareness-raising.
