The Sociocultural Commission to assist in organizing events and activities once again

Federations and supporters’ clubs can request assistance to organize events, conferences, talks, as well as eSports and sports activities

The three Supporters’ Clubs World Confederation working groups are operational again. One of these working groups, the Sociocultural Commission, presented the issues that it will coordinate with the geographical federations and their supporters’ clubs.

Among the main pieces that it will coordinate are events organised by the supporters’ clubs (“penyes”) themselves. Penyes will inform their respective federations about the event and the federation will communicate with the Confederation which in turn will respond to the request promptly and directly. “We want to manage events transparently and smoothly and provide penyes and federations the guests, trophies or materials they need”, explains Salva Torres, one of the persons responsible for the Sociocultural Commission.

Events and activities offered

The Sociocultural Commission coordinates and oversees the Confederation’s events and activities that it offers to penyes. Among them, penyes can access the two episodes of the conference “Barça i Catalunya”, the talk “Invulnerables” by Sister Lucía Caram, and other talks about relevant dates or current topics. It will also continue to offer activities that have been successful, such as eSports tournaments (either on-site or via the eSports Penyes app), and paddle tennis, golf, or pitch and putt tournaments.

We will contribute to provide value added to supporters’ clubs. Culture, history, sports and eSports are already part of our movement and we will invest in them”, notes Salva Torres. Any supporters’ club or federation interested in organizing any of these activities can contact the Confederation directly.

Focus on solidarity

The Sociocultural Commission also includes the Confederation’s Charitable Council, which coordinates the federations’ and supporters’ clubs’ charitable activities both locally and internationally. Its representative, Juan Carrion, observes: “Our aim is to place value on all of the supporters’ clubs charitable activities and help those most in need in our society”.

The Solidarity Council will also launch a new call for international cooperation projects so that federations can submit their proposals to carry out activities in the most disadvantaged areas of the planet.
