The World Confederation of Supporters’ Clubs joins the ‘All Against Cancer’ manifesto

On the occasion of World Cancer Day, which is celebrated on 4 February, the World Confederation of Supporters’ Clubs adheres to the “All Against Cancer” manifesto, which seeks to raise awareness and mobilise society in order to pool resources and capabilities to act against cancer.

In addition, throughout the year, the Confederation, its territorial Federations and the more than 1,250 supporters’ clubs that are part of our group collaborate in solidarity initiatives to support cancer research, as well as in awareness campaigns against the disease.

Attached is the manifesto of “All Against Cancer”:

In 2030, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will have cancer. In Spain, 32 new cases are diagnosed every hour, and it is the second cause of death in our country. The survival rate has stagnated in recent years and stands at 51%, with some types of cancer being much lower.

It is necessary to multiply the effort in the fight against cancer if we want these figures to change.

‘All Against Cancer’ aims to raise awareness and mobilise Spanish society about the importance of pooling the resources and capabilities of everyone around a major programme of action against cancer, increasing the resources available for prevention, research, care and dissemination projects.

‘All Against Cancer’ has been declared an Event of Exceptional Public Interest (2022-2024) by the Spanish Government.

It is time to take the first step to change the figures, ‘All Against Cancer’ has a goal: to achieve 70% cancer survival in Spain by 2030.

For all these reasons, the signatories of this manifesto join forces to promote the ‘All Against Cancer’ project and thus achieve the following challenges:

1 - Dissemination: To make cancer and its impact on society visible, seeking social mobilisation around the cause of cancer.

2 - Prevention: To increase social awareness of cancer prevention and early detection, encouraging the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits and participation in early detection programmes by society.

3 - Care: To increase care for patients and their families to mitigate and alleviate clinical and non-clinical needs.

4 - Research: increase resources allocated to cancer research to increase the cancer survival rate, seeking excellence and ease of transfer, so that the results reach the patient.

What we do today can change our tomorrow.

‘All Against Cancer’

From the World Confederation of Supporters’ Clubs, we encourage you to join this manifesto, so we can join the maximum of efforts in order to achieve its objective.
