The Federación de Peñas Barcelonistas de Andalucía, Ceuta y Melilla, together with the Federación provincial de Peñas Barcelonistas de Almería, organized last weekend its IV Encounter in the town of Almerimar (El Ejido). From Friday afternoon to Sunday at noon, there were three full days of cultural and tourist activities in the region, as well as an emotional meeting point between culers in one of the territorial federations with more FC Barcelona supporters’ clubs.
The main event of these IV Encounter was the gala party on Saturday night, which brought together 450 supporters representing 47 penyes from all the provinces of Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla. The evening was attended by José Antonio Adame, president of the Federación de Peñas Barcelonistas de Andalucía, Ceuta y Melilla, accompanied by his board of directors, as well as Pablo Asensio, president of the Fed. Asturias y Cantabria, Salva Cerviño, president of Fed. Galicia, and José Mallenco, board member of Fed. Castilla-La Mancha. On behalf of the FC Barcelona Social Commission, Rafael Pichardo and Alejandro Cano attended, as well as former player Ricardo Serna. The vice-president of the provincial council of Almeria, Angel Escobar, and the president of the local board of Almerimar, Inogabi Manzano, were also present.
Homage to supporters
During the gala party, the Federación de Andalucía paid tribute to 10 supporters -one per province- with a commemorative plaque, and also presented the gold medal of the entity to its former president, Tomás Martínez Larrubia. Various gifts were also raffled among the attendees, and also hundreds of blaugrana flags were waved thanks to the collaboration of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes. In addition to the gala event, the IV Encounter of the Fed. Andalucía, Ceuta y Melilla offered the participating supporters various activities of a gastronomic, artistic and musical nature, such as the performance of an acrobat, among others. The organization also offered the participants cultural and historical visits to the main points of interest in this area of the province of Almería.
They were three intense days, but with a great festive atmosphere at all times, with the blaugrana passion as a nexus of union of all the participating supporters. Once again, the Federación de Andalucía, Ceuta y Melilla demonstrated its important work in the promotion and dynamization of this movement in the south of the Peninsula and both autonomous cities.
