The 7th Mixed 7-a-side Night Football Tournament by PB Sant Cugat was a success

A total of 275 participants in 23 teams took part in the mixed 7-a-side football competition with which the club seeks to instill good habits among the youngsters of Sant Cugat

The Penya Blaugrana Sant Cugat (Federació Vallès) organised its 7th Mixed 7-a-side Night Football Tournament last Saturday. It was the first edition after three years without being able to celebrate it due to the restrictions of the pandemic, and the desire to recover this activity was very noticeable among the youngsters of this town. The activity was open to all boys and girls from the different schools in the city, as well as sports and cultural organisations, community centres and civic centres. And participation was a great success: 23 teams registered and a total of 275 players aged between 12 and 18.

The competition was divided into two categories according to school years: one between 1st and 3rd year of middle school, based at the Can Magí Municipal Football Camp, and the other between 4th year of middle school and 2nd year of High School, whose matches were played at the ZEM La Guinardera. In total, the 7th Mixed 7-a-side Night Football Tournament comprised more than 50 matches. There were prizes for the top three finishers in each category, but beyond the competitiveness between the teams, fair play and a good atmosphere were the dominant features of the tournament.

Workshop on healthy habits

The aim of this PB Sant Cugat initiative is to promote physical activity and instill healthy habits in young people. For this reason, the activity included a workshop for all the teams to raise awareness of good healthy habits, which was given by the company SeeRSport, from Sant Cugat. The workshop, which aims to offer other healthy alternatives to nightlife, focused on the health and emotional management of the players participating in the tournament. After the success of this edition, PB Sant Cugat is sure that the activity will be consolidated as a reference for young people in the town.
