PB Copenhagen and PB Abidjan take centre stage on the playing fields

The blaugrana supporters’ clubs continue to show their vitality through intense sporting activity

The sporting activity of the supporters’ clubs does not stop, even during the summer months. Good examples of this are PB Copenhagen, which took part in a tournament with supporters’ clubs and fan clubs of other teams in Denmark, and PB Abidjan, which has begun its participation in the summer Vacances League tournament.

Last Saturday, Penya Barcelonista Copenhagen took part in the traditional Fan Cup Denmark, a tournament that brings together twenty teams divided into four groups, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the quarter-finals. The Danish supporters’ club delivered a strong performance and finished in a commendable third place.

The competition, which was initially reserved for English teams and has been open since 2007 to supporters’ clubs and fan clubs of other international teams, has featured PB Copenhagen since 2012. This year’s participants also included representatives from Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid supporters’ clubs.

Beyond the competitive aspect, Fan Cup Denmark stands out for its excellent atmosphere of fellowship and passion for football. The proceeds from the sale of food and drinks go to the first men’s team of the Danish club Husum Boldklub, which provides its facilities for the matches. The day traditionally ends with a shared meal bringing together participants and fans.

PB Abidjan makes its tournament debut

Meanwhile, in Côte d’Ivoire, Penya Blaugrana Abidjan made its debut in the Vacances League tournament, a competition in which it is taking part for the first time. In the opening match, played against Kahima MC, the blaugrana representatives earned a goalless draw (0-0) after a very evenly matched contest. The supporters’ club president, Kabs Usain, together with all the members of the organisation, congratulated the players and coaching staff on their performance in this competitive debut.

Through their participation in Denmark and Côte d’Ivoire, PB Copenhagen and PB Abidjan continue to strengthen the values of fellowship, sportsmanship and blaugrana spirit that unite FC Barcelona supporters’ clubs around the world.
