The Penya Blaugrana of Hanoi once again proved that sentiment for FC Barcelona is very strong in Vietnam, and that the supporters’ clubs are the best ambassadors of this movement around the world. On the occasion of the celebration of its 8th anniversary, the entity belonging to the FCB World Federation gathered 1,100 supporters in the city of Hanoi. It was a day full of activities of all kinds and that had the figure of Leo Messi as the thematic core.
The PB Hanoi, which is the fourth largest in the entire FCB World Federation, offered all attendees a programme full of entertainment. There were several musical and dance performances, a football skills competition and an exciting raffle of blaugrana products; all organized by the members of the Vietnamese penya. In addition, the supporters’ club organized a football match between its members from the north of the country and those from the south. Given the coincidence with the day of the Clasico between Barça and Real Madrid, all attendees watched the match together, which was the only disappointment in an 8th anniversary full of blaugrana passion.
Tribute to Messi
The Penya Blaugrana of Hanoi wanted to dedicate this celebration to the figure of Leo Messi, both for his unparalleled career with the blaugrana shirt, as well as for winning his first World Cup with Argentina about a year ago. For this reason, the club exhibited all the shirts that Messi has worn, both with Barça and with the Argentine national team, including the player’s own signature. There were also several objects related to him, such as boots, balls, or little figures.
Next year, the Penya Blaugrana Hanoi will move its anniversary in the city of Saigon, where last year more than 600 people already gathered on its 7th anniversary.
