The cycle of conferences ‘Barça i Catalunya’, promoted by the Sociocultural Subcommission of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, returned last Friday with its first representation of the year 2024. It was at the headquarters of the Penya Barcelonista Montgrí i Comarca (Federació Empordà i Catalunya Nord), and specifically with its second part, “Temps de Foscor”. A few months ago, the first part “Els orígens de la simbiosi” was already represented in the PB Montgrí i Comarca with a great success.
The vice-president of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, Salva Torres, was in charge of the talk and for the first time had the collaboration of Josep Seguer, son of the mythical FC Barcelona player of the 40’s. They were accompanied by Aksana Vayevoda in the technical part of the colloquium. In total, more than fifty people attended the conference. In addition to the president of the PB Montgrí i Comarca, Joan Casas, the presidents of the PB La Bisbal d’Empordà and the PB Palafrugell were also present, as well as the president of the Federació Empordà i Catalunya Nord, David Falgàs.
A very special year for the PB Montgrí i Comarca
This conference was the starting signal for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the PB Montgrí i Comarca this year 2024. Throughout the rest of the year, the blaugrana entity has already programmed several events and activities to celebrate this milestone with all its supporters, friends and all the residents of Torroella de Montgrí.
The next event will be on March 22, when the club will receive Sor Lucia Caram to present another talk “Invulnerables”, promoted by the Confederació Mundial de Penyes and with the purpose of raising awareness about child poverty. Later, there will be a charitable Sant Jordi, an inclusive football tournament, an exhibition on the half century of the PB Montgrí i Comarca and several festive events that will culminate on November 17 with a big final party.
