Peña Barcelonista Soriana once again showed that it is one of the most highly regarded organisations within the penyes community. The 35th anniversary celebration of the entity, which belongs to the Agrupación de Peñas de Castilla y León, became a true gathering of Barça supporters in the city of Soria, which was decked out in blaugrana thanks to the more than 250 people who attended the event. It was an intense and festive day that demonstrated the strong bonds created by FC Barcelona penyes in every area where they are present.
Among those attending were representatives from a dozen penyes from a wide range of places. In addition to other clubs from the Castilla y León association, such as PB Burgo de Osma, PB Palentina, PB Tierras del Cid, PB Viriato de Zamora and PB Guardo, there was also a notable presence of Catalan organisations, including PB Cotlliure, PB Solsona i Comarca, PB Cubelles, PB Josep Suñol Garriga de Palafolls, PB Pineda de Mar and PB Arenys de Mar. PB Madrid, PB Monteagudo (Navarra) and PB Alfaro (La Rioja) also joined the celebration.

A day of intense celebration
The events marking the 35th anniversary of PB Soriana began at the penya headquarters with the arrival and welcome of the first guests. From there, they travelled to the municipal cemetery to visit the grave of Leonor Izquierdo, the wife of Antonio Machado. The poet’s legacy has created a special bond between PB Soriana and PB Cotlliure, the town where he died; the two penyes laid a floral tribute.
The Barça delegation then attended an official reception at Soria City Hall in the presence of Mayor Javier Antón. Afterwards, a lively blaugrana parade made its way through the city, visiting several locations before reaching Alto de la Dehesa in Alameda de Cervantes Park, where a large group photograph was taken. The final destination was the Hotel Alfonso VIII, which hosted the gala lunch for PB Soriana’s 35th anniversary and brought the day’s events to a close.
Notable guests included Miguel García, president of the Agrupación de Peñas de Castilla y León; Fermín Sanz, president of PB Soriana; Jordi Brull, a member of the Club’s Social Commission; José Luis de Mena, member of Advisory Council in Castilla y León; and former Barça player Onésimo Sánchez. Enrique Rubio, a representative of the Provincial Council of Soria, members of Soria City Council and CD Numancia’s press officer were also in attendance.
