The eSports attract again the youngest to PB Ripollet

The peña belonging to the Federació de Penyes del Vallès gathered about fifty FC Barcelona supporters between 8 and 16 years in the eSports tournament Penyes Futbol Games.

As part of the celebration of its 50th birthday, the Penya Barcelonista de Ripollet (Federación de Peñas del Vallès) organized last Sunday a new edition of the eSports tournament Peñas Fútbol Games. The competition, played with the EA Sports FC 24 video game, brought together 50 boys and girls between 8 and 16 years old at the Cultural Center of Ripollet, where they lived morning full of excitement, fun and fair play. The activity had the collaboration of the Federació de Penyes Barcelonistes del Vallès and the Confederació Mundial de Penyes.

The tournament began with a group stage that decided the pass to the round of 16, and from here on the knockout rounds followed one after the other until the final of the tournament, which raised a great expectation among all those present. Both the champion and runner-up received a commemorative plaque as a prize, as well as several Barça products. The presentation was made by Joan Giménez, president of the PB Ripollet and secretary of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes. The PB Ripollet offered breakfast and drinks to all players, who also took a souvenir of their participation.

Commitment to eSports

This is the second edition of the eSports tournament at PB Ripollet, after it was held in 2019, also with a great success of participation. he activity is one of the most celebrated by the younger sector of the peñistas and culés in general, and has recently gained prominence to the agenda of supporters’ clubs of Barcelona. Recently, the PB Sant Joan Despí (Federation Baix Llobregat) has organized several tournaments for the youngest, and also entities such as the PB Figaró-Montmany, the PB Vilamajor’s or the PB Llinars del Vallès (Federació del Vallès), among others, have added eSports championships to their activities in recent years.

In this way, and also with other proposals of a recreational, creative or educational nature, the peñas collective is getting even closer to the youngest culés. In addition to promoting Barça, the objective is to inculcate the values that define this movement around the world, such as respect, humility and teamwork.
