The 10th Congress of French-speaking Penyes had a weekend full of blaugrana passion

The supporters enjoyed a few days of fellowship and activities in Paris and Levallois-Perret

The French-speaking supporters’ clubs met again after three years without doing so. On this occasion, Paris and Levallois-Perret were the host cities for the 10th Congress of French-speaking Supporters’ Clubs, a date that has been marked for months by all the penyes and its members in these territories. The reunion between supporters’ clubs from France, Switzerland and Maghreb was very special for those present, and had the Penya Blaugrana de Paris (FCB World Federation) as host and organizer, headed by its president Salem Gamar. Representing FC Barcelona was Núria Vilajeliu, member of the Social Commission.

After the inauguration of the congress, the activity moved to the Seine River, with a cruise with which the supporters could visit the highlights and places of interest of the French capital, thus promoting culture and history among all attendees. During the day, a minute of silence was also observed in tribute to Nicolas Fayet, who was president of the PB Lyon and who passed away in 2021.

During the weekend, the solidarity of the penyes was also evident, reflecting the values that Barça promotes around the world: the PB Paris presented a check for 500 euros to UNICEF, a program linked to the United Nations and with which Barça has been actively collaborating since 2006. On Sunday, the day began with the annual assembly, where all the activities were reviewed and the future of the supporters’ clubs movement was discussed. Finally, the congress ended with a VIP backstage tour of the Stade de France, a venue that is preparing to host the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
