The PB Rincón del Barça Mexico accompanied Barça women’s team during its pre-season tour

The supporters’ club, which belongs to the FCB World Federation, attended the two matches of the tour, as well as the training sessions of the Barça players. The Penya Virtual Blaugrana joined them.

In the same way that the men’s team’s USA tour aroused great expectation among all the North American supporters’ clubs, the recent visit of the women’s team to Mexico has caused the same with the blaugrana penyes present in this country. One of the organizations that did not want to miss the chance to see the reigning European Champions up close was the Peña Rincón del Barça en Mexico, which belongs to the FCB World Federation. Its members mobilized throughout the team’s stay in Mexico.

Led by Armando Méndez, a member of the penya’s board, the associates of the PB Rincón del Barça en Mexico attended the two matches the team played during the tour. The first, against Club América at the Azteca stadium in Mexico City, and the second, against Tigres at the UNAL stadium in Monterrey. In both cases, the culers were able to celebrate a victory for the blaugrana squad. They also did not miss the open-door training sessions. Manuel Albuerne, vice-president of the Penya Virtual Blaugrana (FCB World Federation) was also present along with the supporters of the PB Rincón del Barça en Mexico.

Institutional reception

The supporters’ clubs also played a leading role in some of the institutional events that FC Barcelona women’s team organized during this pre-season tour in Mexico. Specifically, Armando Méndez (PB Rincón del Barça in Mexico) and Manuel Albuerne (PB Virtual Blaugrana) took part in the welcome reception held at the delegation of the Generalitat de Catalunya in Mexico City. There, they met Xavi Puig, responsible for the FC Barcelona women’s team, as well as the Catalan political representatives of this delegation. Once again, the supporters’ clubs demonstrated their value as ambassadors of FC Barcelona around the world.
